A ****ing 18 inch crack in the windscreen , now means ive got to get a windscreen monkey out , which means pulling all the mirror and sensors about , something is bound to get broken or end up with scratches or leaks

I had my screen replaced once the 3inch crack proceed across from the right hand side, up into my eye-line and then right across almost to the other side and the guy did a good job of it, my rain sensors went back perfect and had no problems with it

Suggest you demand an OEM windscreen to be fitted ... or perhaps one that is a bit stronger?

    Good Luck

Isn't it strange that every new car gets either hit in the windscreen or scratched in the supermarket within the first days or months ... older crapper cars which the owner can't be bothered seem to get off with everything?

Its the jelous little chavs that have no respect and vandalise new cars or scratch them. Just because people work hard for years to afford to buy a nice new car. They should try getting a job and maybe thay can have the nice things in life rather then just trashing other peoples. anyway rant over, back to topic.

If you're using Auto Windscreens (now RAC Windscreens) I don't think you'll get an OEM windscreen unless you ask. They use they're own RAC branded glass. When I used them on SWMBO's Volvo that's what we got and when a colleague used them the other week on his brand new Civic he had to insist on Honda glass.

The other big company, Autoglass, always use OEM glass from what I've heard, but are expensive if you're paying for it our of your own pocket as opposed to the insurance

I'd double check if I were you

Tell me about it, not that mines new of course but in B&Q a week ago, absolutely chocker so no chance of parking away from others as I usually do. Came back out later, clapped out black P reg fraud mondeo next to mine and a lovely big chunk of paint out of my drivers door bump strip and an unusual amount of star silver on the edge of his passenger door. Sat there for 10 minutes waiting for the barsteward to come out, went into the store and asked them to put a call out with the registration for the owner to come to customer services, nothing, tw*t obviously knew.

Im not fussed about it not being OEM , providing they do a proper job when fitting it without damaging anything or making a mess , i think she said the screen will be banded , whatever that means

i think you may mean bonded, its the way they glue the screen into position with a thick black bead of resiin/glue
