Default looks like I've just fixed it.

Had a look under the bonnet, Could hear a hissing sound when the turbo was spinnig, traced the sound to the hose that goes into what looks like the inlet manifold area, and found that the hose was half on half off. Reconnected it, tightened the jubilee clip to the point it will need replacing if it has to come off again and took it for a run up the road.

It pulled OK, still a little down on power it seems, but more importantly, no cloud of ****e behind me when I put my foot down. Still sounded a little gruff for my liking though.

I will still have my garage have a look at it, but cant understand why it blew off in the first place?

It may have blown off if the turbo sent the manifold pressure high enough.. that hissing would be escaping air pressure..clouds out the back?? overfuelling due to a throttle postion / lack of boost mismatch??

where the clouds white or black Andrew??

all i can say other than that is take it easy till it's looked at.. don't want them weedling out by saying that you'd made the fault worse by driving a sick car hard..

They were definately black clouds. It's not going out again until Vauxhall have been informed and the work agreed to be carried out.

I will also be letting VX customer service know, so they can log it as yet another problem with this car. Audi's are looking more and more tempting.....
