    Default painting plastics

    hi there not sure if this is the right section but i was just woundering im going to c/c my side skirts and was woundering do i have to use normal grey primer after the plastic primer or just plastic primer then paint.

    you will find it difficult to get the paint to stick right unless you put a lot of work in to it mate
    Vectra vxr custome remaps egr deletes dpf and diagnostic work all remaps are custome bench tuning avalible all genuine equipment PM for info

    as long as it bonds well im not that bothered about how much prep i'll have to do. i refuse to pay a body shop £300 odd to paint side and rear skirts

    pity you dont live a bit closer m8 as ive just had my front bumper/xp spoiler v grill /bonnetand rear bumperwith vxrinsert all preped and painted for 500 pounds and was done in 4 days .also just dropped of my boot spoiler to be painted he will fit on friday.that is costing me another 70 pounds.

    got quoted £150 for painting and fitting a irmscher spoiler didnt think that was to bad.

    plenty of elbow grease to rub the stipple effect off - then a plastic primer followed by rubbing down followed by a couple (minimum) of coats of paint (rubbed down between coats) and three coats of lacquer - yes time consuming - but the results will be worth it

    excellent so i dont need to use normal primer after the plastic one

    no - but be careful what plastic primer you do use - to be fair if its rubbed back sufficiently i would have thought standard primer would have sufficed - its all i used on my centre caps and they came up trumps
