Hi guy,
Can someone please tell me what tyres I should have on a Vectra with 18's, My wheels came from an Astra and have 225 35 18 which are spine shattering tbh. I would like to go as big as possible, but I also plan on lowering it 30 or 40 mm.

225/40/18 iirc
225/45/18 official size, but rare and very expensive, 225/40 alternatve, 235/40 also alternative and fitted to VXR with standard 18's...
Should make a bit of a difference bud, there will be 5% more rubber there
I recently fitted new 18" boots to mine.
See my THREAD here.
Hope this helps,
Paul.
Snowman, you got your ears on?
I'm running on 225/45/18 95y Toyo T1r & the ride is firm but fine, not too bad at all for low profile tyres

On the 11 Spokes, as they are only a 7.5" rim, 225 45 18" tyres are the correct and best fit, I have just bought a set of these, Avon ZZ3 and they were £323 inc VAT delivered.
As Penfold101 has said, 235 40 18" tyres are suitable as they are VXR standard fitment but just about right for a 7.5" rim but an 8" rim is better for 235 tyres.
If you have the Astra G fitment wheel with 225 35 18" tyres, the wheels are the ET45 fitment, so to get things 100% factory, a 4mm spacer would be advised to bring them down to ET41.
Cheers guys looks like 45's then, thanks for all the help. Maverick would the 4mm make much difference?
Depends on how fussy you are. With wheel offset, if your car supposed to run ET41 and you drop to ET37, it's not much of an issue.
But when you go the other way it can upset the balance of the car. The worse thing is, is that I imagine your wheels (If they are ET45) sit quite inboard on the car. 4mm, or 5mm spacers will give the car the correct stance with the slightly wider track.
