    Default ARB Bushes

Had an attempt at replacing them today, failed miserably, how2 says remove drop links, wasn't entirely sure what they was, pics of the car in the how2 doesn't really relate to my car, and I didn't want to start removing things I shouldn't. The things I suspected were drop links, I didn't have a 18mm spanner for anyway! Any tips? Car is a 2.2 LS 52 plate, cheers.

Yeah, that's what I have, when going over speed bumps, someone said it could be my bushes, I just don't know what i'm looking for though, and wouldn't like to start tampering with things I shouldn't!

mine turned out to be the bushes, once i replaced them no more crunch its dead easy mate just unbolt the bottom of the droplink that connects to the arb bar and follow the arb bar untill you see the bush, this was my first time at doing it and you learn as you go along

The drop link is the long, thin vertical rod, the lower end of which is connected to the anti-roll bar, the top end is connected to the shock absorber-strut. You need to undo the lower end of it just so that you can move the anti-roll bar around a bit.

Right so I don't need to undo where it connects to the shock? This was where I was looking today! Am I going to need to get underneath the car, or will I be able to do this from the side, jacked up on the drive you see, always the fear of it dropping!

No need to get under the car, although always best to use axle stands anyway - even if you're not under the car, you don't want it to fall on it's belly.

I see, shall have another look tomorrow. Don't have any axle stands, just gonna have to keep it jacked I think, shall look into buying some becase I can see them coming handy in the very near future!
