People have trouble finding them when sober never mind when theyr ****ed
It's funny because they actually find it hard to find the door handle at ANYTIME. Night, Day, Sober or ratted it doesn't matter. How many times i've uttered the words " it's the silver handle" gawd knows. What does get to me are the muppets that can't find the pull handle on the Pass front door and try to shut it by going to pull on the door pocket. Oi!!, NOOOOO!!!! . I'm too protective of my car lol!!!
Both nice cars there... And, yes customers do usually appreciate a well turned out car and will then generally treat it a bit better.
We're currently running a Design model with the half-vinyl interior, so it's easier to keep clean. Saying that, the last fare tonight was a woman with two kids and sugar all over the back seat. Thankfully it was the last one though and then straight to clean it.
Our Design 1.9CDTi 120
The recently-replaced SRi 1.9CDTi 150
nice motors ross08, the design spec probably better for taxiing with softer suspension, half leather,4xleccy windows etc. probably my next choice.
The main reason we opted for the Design was for the softer suspension. Speed bumps are a massive issue now and the SRi 150 needed a full overhaul of the suspension last winter. Had we kept it, we knew it would have needed the same this year. The half vinyl is another massive plus and can be wiped down at the end of the day, or - should the need arise - even between jobs.
The all-round electric windows to me would be a downside rather than a plus for taxi work, but as you can lock the rear switches from the front, I'm quite happy.
We've had the car two months today and very happy with it, it'll be a year old on Xmas Eve.
Gave mine a good clean today. The inside was fine, though i did give it a hoover anyhow. The outside on the other hand was minging. It was cleaned on Thursday. ****** winter!!
The result after 2 hours of graft. Well worth it, i'll be doing this again in a couple of days time, no doubt.
Jason, I see your Ace Cafe sticker in the window there. I've got one of them in mine too. It's a great place isn't it?
We're going with VXROnline in Jan 2010...
Ross08, i went down in March with some mates, we'd been to a show at the Ally Pally and decided to stop there on the way home. It's a brilliant place, there were Bikes and Cars there, i might go in Jan though it's a busy month.
Note the dent in the tailgate. This was caused due to the tailgate lock jamming, the dash said it was open and when the button was depressed you could hear the lock spinning but it wouldn't throw it open. I had to whelt the area with my hand to free it, and caused that to happen!!
It'll get dealt with soon, why didn't Vauxhall keep the key lock, it had not have happened if that was fitted.

We actually towed a car not long back by tying the rope to the tailgate lock (the part attcahed to the car itself, not to the tailgate) as we couldn't find the screw-in tow eye.
It actually pulled the lock out of line and the tailgate wouldn't shut right. The big hammer sorted it out though
