    Vehicle : Opel Signum

    Trim : Sport

    Engine : 3.0 CDTI

    Year : 12/03

Default 3.0CDTi, new fault or SCV related?

I was belting down the motorway tonight with most of the power back! I replaced the fuel filter earlier today which was very dirty after 10months and 12k miles...
Problem here is...I floored it in 2nd and at 2250rpm when the turbo should have been on full boost I lost all power and the spanner light came on.

I should point out the car doesn't smoke black. The DMF is knackered. EGR new (done less than 4k miles with it), injectors just run in (2k miles). Having the SCVs replaced on Monday.

I'm going to borrow my friend's OP-COM to read out the fault codes, but thought I might ask for your opinion first.

The turbo kicked in briefly and then it went into limp mode.
I gave the boost sensor a clean when we replaced the injectors.

Why did you not change the dmf when you had the engine out.

I changed mine. It made one hell of a difference. On tickover you could hear a clicking noise. when you went dow hill in a low gear with my foot off the trottle sounded like an exhaust brake on a truck.

Checked on OP-COM...many many codes lol...
EGR valve open - how the hell is that even possible with an EGR that's done only 3k miles???
Boost Pressure Range Performance - something....
    Rail Pressure Negative Deviation
    etc.

Now I don't know which fault code set off the limp mode the other night.

As I have said before . op-com software brings up any electical blip that an engine chucks out thus making you feel you car is falling apart. If I put my op-com on my car it will give me the same problems. If I put my snap-on scanner on the car it shows no codes, all the top of the range scanners inc tech2 are programed to ignore the small blips the op-com shows. So do not worry about egr open etc, it an electrical blip that has no Significance to the running of beloved v6cdti.

To remove pump is 6.5 hours . You can change the scv valves without removing the pump so it will be a lot less say 2 hours less. so thats 4.5 hours .
