Default do ipods and the CD70 mix??

as above really guys, ive got the CD70 complete with sat-nav. does it have an input to enable ipods to be played through it or is it a case of replacing the cd70 with another double din unit. dont really want to go down the latter route cause i will loose sat nav. any help greatly appreciated. cheers guys

If you have a CD70 from 2007 or later , it should have a aux-in.
If it's from before 2007 you can try a FM-transmitter or what dh.dti says above........on www.opel-forum.nl is a vec-driver who installed a Parrot which have a connection for Ipod !

Ah I was thinking the same and i have just ordered 'well 6 weeks ago & still not arrived' the Aux Tray Connection with a patch lead. I hope it would just plug in somewhere on the back on my CD70 and work, is this not the case now, its a 2006 veccy?

Unlikely that a pre-2007 Vectra will have the correct wiring, would also need 04/04/2007 update / language disc or later (not to be confused with the map disc).
This software disc added aux-in and ext-in functions on the list of sources...i.e.AM, FM, AS, CD, AUX-IN and EXT-IN...
However only 2007 onward radios were wired internally to accept those connections.

It is believed that if yours is Aux-In compatible, then there should be a small plug with three wires in it for connecting the jack plug box into. This small plug is located / tied up behind the heater control panel. (just below the radio head-unit).

There are threads for this on this site, Astra-H forum and the german equivalent of this site.

Oh, where would i get the update disc? i have looked on eBay before and never seen one and i don't want to pay dealer prices?

I will pop out the heater panel tomorrow to see if i have any wires taped up that looks like the link cable i have. However, is it going to be a case of replacing the whole CD70 Unit to get it working

A replacement CD70 would be stupidly expensive.

I got mine from e-bay at approx £20 posted, however I think the update discs are quite cheap from Vauxhall...its the map discs that are expensive...otherwise borrow one from another forum member...you only need to update once!

PM me your address, and I'll lend you mine.

Also the update disc slightly enhances the GPS software, to allow more route functions like avoid tunnels, ferries and the like, zoom options if you have a CID.

I would not go newer than this, as the 2009 software has the rubbish TM (Traffic Master) instead of the superior TMC...why can't Vauxhall and Navteq leave things alone?
