    Default Fault code 0422 on 3.2 V6

I have detected the 0422 fault code on my 2004 3.2 V6 elite estate. It was converted to LPG at 103k and has now done 112k . The EML light has been on constantly for the last 350 miles. I assume the catalytic converter in the manifold nearest the bulkhead/passenger compartment is on its last legs although LPG consumption, starting and general performance seem unchanged. I also assume it wont pass the MOT emissions test next summer – but is it doing any damage?

Does anyone know if a 2.6 manifold/cat would fit? These seem relatively plentiful on eBay but I have been told by two after market cat specialists that the cat for my model cannot be manufactured yet as it has not yet got EU type approval.

Finally, as a long shot, has anyone got a cat that will fit my car or know where I could get one (Vauxhall Parts Departments excepted!)

Maybe from e-bay or one of the vx breakers who put ad's in places like Total Vauxhall Mag?

What exacty does your fault code indicate? Wouldn't a cat fault put the emmissions light on rather than the eml?
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Fault code 0422:

"Main catalyst below threshold bank 1"

Yes it is the emmissions light - the engine shaped light described as "control indicator for exhaust" in the handbook. Sorry for the confusion.

In an earlier thread member GSi3.2 intimated that the manifold/cats from the 2.6 and 3.2 v6 were identical. I am looking for a second opinion as Vauxhall tell me they have different part numbers.

Unfortunately he is no longer a member due to personal reasons, however if he said they were the same i would believe him over VX, part numbers do not tell the whole story. get them side by side and if they look the same then I'd fit it!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
