Default Tire pressure sensors. How to reset or something?

    Hi everyone!

I recently switched the front wheels with the back ones. On one of the back wheels I don't have a sensor anymore due to an accident. By the way, I'm still searching for a decent priced sensor.

The problem is that after I put the sensor-less wheel in the front, the computer still shows as it's on the back. Practically it says that the rear left wheel's pressure can't be read. In fact, the wheel is now on the left front side.

Is there a way to reset them? Maybe with Tech2? It must be a way other than switching the valves between the wheels, right?

    Thank you.

    Lao.

Tech2 can get them to relearn them from fresh, only way to do it as far as i know
Plasma's Tech2 services are now partially open and able to provide services

each tire sensor is programmed in sequence and is learnt in position so if you move them around they will give you a false reading- we get customers in with readings being given from the "spare wheel well" saying that the front tire has low pressure-puncture as the sensor is still transmitting even though its been swapped out -

regarding your link to a search for a tyre sensor - you would be better posting a new request as the link shows that the request is attached to a thread in the photo section - so no one will know until they have read the whole thread and page 5

Only a car manufacturer could design/fit a component that needs expensive dealer work EVERY time tyres are rotated (as recommended) and EVERY time new tyres are fitted.

I don't know what the current minimum rate is for a Tech 2 session, say £50, which would be £1/week just on tyre pressures - cheaper to DIY with a digital gauge.

Whatever happened to the earlier system where continuous differences in ABS sensor rotation was used to indicate a tyre pressure problem?

So, in conclusion, Tech2 would solve this issue, right?

@ deztroyer: I can't post in the "Parts wanted" section unless I'm a full member.

The search for a sensor continues HERE.

I have a friend who can Tech2 my car for 10 GBP, but if this might seem cheap to you, for me it isn't.

Don't think that's true as when you 1st setup the sensors you put the tyre pressures in for front and back so the sensors are set but afaik if you fit a new sensor it doesn't need to be tech2'd to the system

What happens when you temporarily increase tyre pressures for a heavy load and then drop to normal afterwards, does that give a warning all the time - or indeed just switch front-back.

I'm sure it only warns when tyre pressure drops indicating a puncture

Mine indicates the real pressure in each tire.

Yes but you only get a warning when it drops below a pre set limit
