I bought one from B&Q last year, the very next day the hot weather disappeared and then got resigned to the garage. in cool air recirculating mode its not too bad. but full on freeze yer nuts its LOUD. like a generator running in your room.

These sound like a good idea though, not too expensive either...

Wall mounted all the way, takes a while to fit but worth it.

We've got the B&Q 'darlek' looking ones.

    1 x 12000 BTU and 1 x 9000 BTU

Absolutely great, made a makeshift 'porthole' to vent the hot air through a small open window (used hardboard).

I've got the 12000 BTU as its needed to keep our server room cool. Diana has the 9000 BTU one to keep her office cool.

A bit noisy though, but we can live with the noise, as the coooooool air is so much worth it...

    Freeeeeeezing.... Hmmmm...
