    Default Help boot won't open!

Help my 2.2 Direct 55 plate estate boot wont open!

Problem, I unlock the car and the boot only opens about 1/4 inch light in boot come on but boot is stuck. Have to then push the bottom of the tailgate to shut it the switch wont work so just leave it come back in 10/15mins and it might work or not.

So read the How 2 on the forum and have taken the switch out this morning and lubed up the ball bearing and yes the boot opens and closes fine except again when you lock the car and then try to open the boot again it's stuck!

Have had to use the emergency boot release to open it but then it works fine as long as you don't lock the car

    Any Idea's ???

    Cheers Sean.

Im going to state the silly and obvious here, because nobody seems to be able to open my boot.

I have to actually tell people to press the button once whilst pulling the boot upwards..... The number of times they hold to button down (so it makes that cycling noise) and then complain that it won't open, is just untrue!

I wonder if it's possible to break the thing by holding down the button too long?

I am suffering from the same problem, shutting the boot properly and leaving it for 10/15 mins seems to bring power back but try the fob button and the door still opens 1/4 inch or so and jams.
After the 10/15 min wait, stand at the back of the car and press the fob button twice and then imediatly press the boot open and it will open but just the once...shut it and your back to 10/15 mins wait.
Please can some technowonder let us know how to fix this one!!
    Cheers

I undid the micro switch their are two small bolts and the switch moved enough to take the rubber cover off and lube up with WD40 and replaced the rubber then i used the red tube on the WD40 can and poked it up the latch part and sprayed for 30sec-1 minute then sprayed the top part of the latch as well left it all for hour or so and it's been fine since!

I had my switch changed some months back for this very same prob. The switch jamming on. I tried oiling it but it would only last a couple of days then back to square 1 again. New button mate sort it out propped.

I often got the boot not shut light in the dash. Then it would just whir when i pushed the release button. I either had to whack near the lock with the side of my fist or push down really hard down on the boot. I've since sprayed the whole thing with WD-40 and adjusted the boot stop mushrooms at the side. seems to have worked. For now?
