    Cool Car Parts Connexion

I know they've been mentioned a few times on here before, but I thought I'd make a specific thread for them as they've come in useful for me on several occasions.

    Car Parts Connexion

Basically it's a parts website for Saab and Vauxhall, which allows them to advertise discounted parts through the dealership network. You can search by description, or simply input the part number itself.

I'm fitting new front brakes next week, and as the rears on my V6 CDTi aren't looking too healthy I thought it would silly not to do them when I'm fitting Goodridge hoses and changing the brake fluid at the same time.

A quick check with some dealerships and eBay was giving prices varying between 70 and 100 squid, which I thought was shocking seeing as the 314mm front pad and disc kit is only £72+VAT from VX themselves...

Grabbing the part number from here (93186301) and chucking it into Google brought up Car Parts Connexion who I'd used before, and came up with three dealerships offering the kit. The cheapest was 44 quid, but they said they'd ran out and then removed it from the site, but the second people I e-mailed came back with a positive...

Today's bargain was a disc and pad set for the 292mm rear setup, coming out at £48.50...

Collected from them in person, but most will post out too in my experience.

Always worth a check for any part you're after, but take the RRP's they list with a pinch of salt...

Problem is that in over half the times, the item is sold already, but they keep advertising it for months afterwards.

Unfortunately the dealerships don't keep their listings upto date, however there are definately bargains to be had.

If you are after something that isn't on there it's also worth making an enquiry via the website. I dropped on a parkpilot ecu for £20 delivered instead of £120 from my local dealer after making an enquiry

It's good to find dealerships embracing modern technology, there are many to be found on ebay too...

    Not impressed with that website.

I saw some front coil springs advertised on there for my 2.2dti and phoned the dealership up. It was sold along time ago, and they wont be selling anymore at that price that they advertised them at.

Wot a waste off time and effort.

I've had nothing but good experiences with that site TBH. Loads of stuff and if you want something you can ask and stealers get in touch with you with old/new stock or parts ordered for jobs that didn't happen for cheap...

I wonder if they leave the advert there as a way of getting more potential clients.... "no we don't have that sir, but we do have one these ???????, would that be ok?".

Kind reminds me of the second hand car dealers that advertise cars that have already been sold in the AT.... When you go to visit them they apologise for selling the car and direct you towards their harder to shift stock, which they know you'll go along with because you just spent 4 hourd in the car driving there for no other reason.... lol
