All I can say is most electronics are made in china anyway and the name brand stuff is a name. A few features may be different but the basic are all the same.

you do get what you pay for on sound and build quality -
some of the cheaper brands wont have anti surge fuses so that if you had a voltage spike that's the whole unit burnt out ...rather than a 20p 1ampTime surge fuse -

so the cheaper ones will work and do your bidding - but might not necessarily have the longevity - sound quality and build of your alpines/kenwoods and pioneers

radios imported from Japan contain a radio designed for the Japanese FM band, and importers often fit a "converter" to down-convert the 87.5 to 107.9 MHz band to the frequencies that the radio can accept. In addition to showing an incorrect frequency, there are two other disadvantages that can result in poor reception; the converter "compresses" the frequencies making the stations appear closer together, and the original antenna may perform poorly on the higher FM band. Also, RDS is not used in Japan, whereas most modern car radios available in Europe use this system. ..

Sure have buddy When you consider the price of a seperate parrot system and a portable sat-nav for just over £200 this was a bargain as it is fully expandable having 3 pre-outs , 2 AV inputs and outputs , rear camera plug , usb and ipod. The unit came with loaded I-GO nav software and is better than the standard nav set-up on my vectra
