    Default bypass ABS sensors

    Hi

I use brake pads with no wear sensor built in so how can I bypass the ABS sensors to stop the fault light coming on on my dashboard?

    Thanks

are you sure you have an abs fault - have you knocked a sensor when fitting pads??

the brake pad warning symbol is actually a round circle with lines either side of them

    - this can be bypassed by wiring the connectors together to close the circuit - BUT if you have any other warning lights then you have a problem with the braking circuit and need to resolve it as a matter of urgency otherwise your abs wont work in the event of an emergency stop

why would you want to bypass the abs lamp on warning? if its for mot reasons then it will still fail for not illuminating. if not then just stick some tape over it allthough i'm the same as detz for saftey reasons it needs rectifying

Is it me, or is the OP confusing the ABS sensor for the brake wear sensor? Sounds to me that he just wants to bypass the brake pad wear sensor to stop the brake pad warning light from coming on.

Do you mean that the pads don't have the recess for the sensor to fit into? They should do if they're the right pads for the car.

The sensor is about £10 from a dealer - there's a few so check you get the right one for your car and make sure the cable is properly routed and secured when you fit it.
