    Default Traffic Wardens

The locals in Edinburgh were telling me about the traffic wardens there, the council have their own "bunch" they are not too bad, have some common sence and are a bit more tollerent, then there are the ones who work for a firm who are contracted to the council, the are a compleat bunch of %&$$£ according to the locals, these lot have zero tollerence, they have been know to put a ticket on a bus that had stopped on a dubble yellow whilst the driver went to the loo, they have booked a hearse waiting for a funneral, and the other afternoon I saw one booking a lorry, the driver was doing a delivery. If they do not want you to drive in the city they are doing a good job about it. I did not think Hitler was still around.

No, just lots of 'Little Hitlers' who let a little bit of 'power' go straight to their heads. Not to mention increased bonuses for meeting their targets!

Theres always ridiculous stories about the Edinburgh 'meanies' in the Scottish papers, lik u said, booking hearses, even ambulances on occasion I believe. They keep trying to claim the objective of a warden's job is to 'maintain the flow of traffic' yeah nothing to do with that £7mil then....

They are nothing sort of a cash cow to the local councils. They are big commission even though they deny it from the parking operators. If people are parked in the wrong place that fine but when you see these idiots stood by cars looking at their watch waiting for the time to elapse, then there something wrong.

Here in Bury, the policy seem to be book everything and then sort out the problems afterwards ( but make the claims process as difficult and long winded as possible).
They book Hearses, ambulences, police cars & vans, delivery trucks, a National Blood delivery van, no remorse, intelligence or common sense, they only see the £££ signs.

If our council didn't dole out all its money to scoats they wouldn't need all the extra money from schemes like this.
Not a rant just a mild observation .

I got one visiting a place the other month, it was annoying that my car was clearly out of town material and that we were having a day out in their town and spending also, add the fact i was 15 mins over the ticket limit and that it was getting near 5pm, I myself would have ignored it for another 15 mins giving me the chance to return to the car and leave withoput a sour taste in my mouth, ruined a nice day, funny thing we were down that way again a few weeks back, so I went straight past it shouting out BOYCOTTED!!! and spent my money elsewhere.

A few years back I met an old colledge friend in the street. He had become a Traffic Warden and I thought, "why have you done that - gone to the darkside?". After a little chat an abulance approached the busy cross raods where we were stood. In a blink of an eye, he had dashed into the middle of the traffic and stopped that lot to let the abululance through, whos crew waved their appreciation. Now thats what traffic wardens should be doing, but you never seem to see these days.

One of our patrol cars attended a guy having a heart attack last year.He parked in a Pay and Display immediately across the road. You guessed it, one of the wardens put a ticket on his fully marked patrol car.
