    You're right.

I clickedon the about un der help on the top bar and saw "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.14)......." and thought it was Version 5.

    Oops

I should have looked further up and found

    V 3.0.14

I'm using v3.5.5 with Windows XP Pro and haven't noticed any delay, but then I don't leave too many tabs open.

Firefox is still buggy with Flash, particularly flash advertisements. It's been like it since the early days of Firefox.

Certain over designed flash adverts totally cripple my Firefox.

Download the adblock plus and flash block addons, you'll see a marked improvement.
