Facelift steering wheel + airbag on Prefacelift car?

Hi,

Im wondering if I can replace the steering wheel on my 2003 SRi with one from a facelift car with the rollers for volume etc? mine has the 3 buttons either side.

If so I would assume I will need airbag etc also.

Has anyone do this? can you advise if this is possible.

yours is half CanBus facelift is full CanBus.....dont think it is poss

Mine has the type B steering wheel with the 'scroll wheels' and buttons and is a pre-face with the CD70 Navi.... so the steering wheel deffo CAN be fitted. As to making all the bits work... I don't know enough to help, soz.

So yours is a late model pre facelift full canbus!!

It can be done but not without a fair bit of work, cash and trouble.

True.... despite being on a 54 plate, Op-Com reports it as being a MY2005.

Andy's one will be a full canbus prefacelit, as stated. The facelift wheel will go straigh on, but he'd need a new airbag. The half canbus cars had a single plug for the airbag, the full canbus cars had 2. The facelift cars had 2 plug and a different style airbag.

Confused yet...?

It has been done, sticking a facelift twin plug airbag and wheel on a single plug pre-facelift, but I don't know how...

Strewth !! Going to be fun getting the right spares for mine if I ever need to, then !
