AFAIK the fluid reservoir is behind the bumper - the light will also come on if the alternator fails.

Power steering reservoir is behind drivers side wing, it's a nightmare to top up aswell, main dealer told me it's not to be touched by owners that's why it's hidden. Didn't even want to sell me the fluid until I said I was going to Halfords to get it, and just needed to know what type it was.

My fluid was low when my light came on at 2000 rpm. Topped up and fine from then.

My power steering reservoir was bone dry, not a single drop of fluid. Got told it was knackered as it MUST have a leak, took flaming ages to fill it up and it's not lost a drop in 2 weeks
