Default What are peoples views on climate change

Hey all, just watching news about the meeting in Copenhagen, haven't seen a thread about this so thought I'd see what people think, while I agree on recycling and not wasting energy etc I have to question the motoring side of it, for instance high polluting cars, why are they not banned if like the images they are putting across will destroy the world?? Why is it me paying a higher tax makes it ok? Does throwing a lump of cash at an iceberg make it reform??this confuses me

I personally dont believe a word of it - yes ok recycling I agree there why cant we recycle the materials we are finished with and outlaw the plastic carrier bag - thats a very fair argument I 100% agree with.

As for pollution - no no, Volcanoes - which pour out alot of sulphur and carbon dioxides are beating cars in that respect. There is also the the earth's magnetic polls which are apparently undergoing (or nearly) a North/South flip which will allow high levels of radiation from the sun to pass through the atmosphere.

As far as im concerned its an excuse for tax.

I've always accepted that increased levels of CO2 are causing climate change, as it's always been, it was the media that labelled it global warming.

What I find totally unacceptable is that UK road users are supposed to put it all right on our own. All output of CO2 should be taxed on the same basis - it's ridiculous that driving London to Inverness attracts huge taxation yet produces less CO2 than flying. Building new economical cars to replace older ones creates more CO2 than simply keeping the older ones in use.

yeah the winters are milder now, where is the snow but I have noticed that change in 20 years, so I dont think it is the car.

Then there is the question of the same idiots who have these conferences which half a forest has disappeared to provide them with material to list all the reasons for climate change - kinda ironic i think.
