Sorry to hear of your bump. Looks like you will need a new bumper. I had similar level of damage to my sri when I ran down a deer. I got 2 quotes for the repair and I came to a deal with the repair centre and they agreed to fit a VXR bumper. I only had to pay for the right foglight, right foglight grill, upper VXR grill. My car had originally been fitted with factory fit VXR kit which when the price of the lower lip spoiler had been added to the sri bumper the cost was roughly the same as the VXR bumper. Also a bracket was broken on my drivers headlight and I got the repair centre to "glue" it and I managed to work back the price of the headlight to cover the mentioned parts. I also had to pay the excess, which on my policy was £100.

If you've been hit up the rear, you should be able to claim that the person who hit your car also pushed you forward into the other car. These sorts of accidents always get a bit messy tbh...

    Going through the insurance?

As said above, say the car hit you behind first which pushed you forward.
