What the crazy person with the stutter said...
I've changed bulbs, as have others. and no matter what you pay the car behind you lights up more of the road in front of your vec...
ahem - yes sorry about my procrastinating earlier - i've been down the lanes of uprated bulbs they dont come anywhere near the quality and quantity of light emitted from a set of hids - they make driving well........safer

these look great but have just forked out 750 quid on veccy so was looking for a cheaper fix like just fitting new bulbs. the car is an elite with bulb censor.
looking on the net i beleive that the bulbs for the veccy are H7? but i also see that some bulbs on the net say not legal for EU. has anyboby just changed their bulbs and staying legal, without melting all the wires under the bonnet!
aRNT bulbs in the regon of approx£15-30...HID setup(do a search) £60 all in...different league entirley
"cheaper fix" and here lies the problem - you just wont get the lumens from a standard bulb - hids are roughly 4-5 times brigther and clearer than the best bulbs you can buy - some of the brighter bulbs just burn out in 3-4 months so then your replacing them again at another 30-40 quid so in that time you can have purchaced a set of hids and will have been able to see clearly all winter

I also have dim headlights on my 2006 Vectra 67000 mls, driven by me mainly, since new, and I drive mostly with lights on.
I have cars behind me with their lights on that put my cars headlight beam, in the shade! I have a big shadow in front of my car. This is after trying various bulbs and with clean lenses.
I have noted -
They worsened with age
The Individual lense where the bulb is shimning through is couloured almost silver. So it looks like it has been brunt.
1 - Is this normal?
2 - What the most cost effective way to fix this?
