I have heard a rumour that the reason the Insignia Elite/SRi 2.0 twin turbo diesel was dropped a few months ago before any cars were built, is that the power will be increased to break the 200bhp mark and be released in the Insignia GSi along with a 240/260bhp 2.0 Turbo GSi.

There is also a rumour circulating that the 2.8T will be dropped, as the 2.0T is well fast enough, and tunable to and beyond the figure you mentioned, so a mighty GSi might be on the cards.

AFAIK The new Astra will be available as a VXR and a GSi, so very possible

Yeah, £1500 for Vauxhall and £2000 or £2500 for Saab, I've only had mine a while now but the fund is growing nicely, should be at maximum when I come to change the Vectra .

What are these GM cards? Are they Vauxhalls version of a Tesco Clubcard?

GM credit card, you earn 3% of all transactions in points that can be used to purchase cars , you can earn £1500 discount of most vauxhalls just for spending money LOL
