    confused towbar wiring!!

hi. looking for some advise. i have a 2004 vec c sri estate. i have got my hands on a second hand towbar which is now fitted but the wiring kit that came with it is incorrect. can anyone tell me the if they know or have a place that sells cheap vehicle specific looms for this car. in urgent need but dont really want to fork out twice what i paid for the bar on the wiring!! any suggestions much appreciated. ebay coming in at about 60 quid, the cheapest so far.
ohh one other thing i take it the two multi plugs under the boot floor (in the small compartment) are for the loom to plug into?
    thanks

Towsure also sell vehicle specific looms - check your car's model year (10th digit of VIN) as that's more important than registration year.

Or you could just wire up without the kit. Takes a bit more time, but costs practically nothing. Just a couple of relays and a little time.

On any modern car, it's best to use a 6 or 7-way relay - that way any check control systems aren't confused. The relay will need a 20 amp supply which is available using the red cable to the connector socket behind the trim somewhere - a 20A fuse is normally needed to be fitted in the fuseboard.

I was just posting up an alternative method that is ultra low cost and works without upsetting any checks and balances. Up to the user to how they achieve the end result though.
