Default New stereo install this weekend help !!

hI guys just picked up my new head unit and have been busy reading through the manual.

It seems fairly straightforward except for 2 things I am not sure about.

1:It says I have to connect a lead to the cars speed detection circuit lead any ideas on where this is on the vectra c 55 plate ?

2:There is also a lead to connect to the handbrake switch is it possible to bypass this in any way ? I know i managed to do this on an old head unit.

Headunit is a Pioneer Avic-F10BT if that helps.

    Thanks for any advice/help

speed sensing just turns the volume up when going faster to compensate for road noise so i guess its easier to press the button i wouldnt want to much about with the speed sence as it gives info to lots of things engine / ebs ect

Thanks for the reply guys, well its nearly fitted.

I have sorted the cable that should go to the handbrake cable (just earthed it to the chassis)

The speed sense cable is another problem though on this stereo it seems to have something to do with the gps navigation aswell according to the manual (So I guess I would need to fit it)

Might have to try and speak to vauxhall or do some googling if nobody else has done this

will post some pics once its in......Hopefully

Isn't the speed sensor some thing to do with the volume like the CD70's ? faster you travel the louder the voice is on the navi

yea just been reading the manual again and I quote:

Car speed signal input: The mobile navigation system is connected here to detect the distance the vehicle travels. Always connect the vehicles speed detection circuit. Failure to make this connection will increase errors in the location display

Not sure how mutch difference this will actually make though
