It can have what is known as a local mate, it involves feathering away the edges with very fine paper, and then best done with a proper spray kit, i.e DeVilbis and a compressor the laquer is restored by turning the pressure right down while spraying it.

i would take it into vx and ask for someone to look at it ... because if its a defect in the paint it'll be covered under warrantey ... im sure vx has a 6 yr paint warrantey ..

get it checked out before doing it yourself

    Default 6yr warranty

Please note: unless you have had a regular inspection of the bodywork (and service book endorsed), your steeler may refuse to repair under warranty as my boss found he bought his veccy recently (51 plate) and rust damage repairs were refused under the W T by the steeler as the car had not had a recent inspection (and book stamped). Beware steelers at large !

As cosmic says, if the book for body inspections isn't kept up they wont fix it, I've yet to see a service book with an inspection stamp in it.

If VX won't stand the cost of the repair, try a smart repair firm like chipsaway or the like..he'll get a good finish and it'll be around £90-100..

Vauxhall said the rust on the frame of my car "2004" where the side impact bar is spot welded to the frame was not covered by the 6 year part as I had only had the car for 4 months I said . He basiclly said that I might have paid less for the car with the fault in the 1st place, I replied with what the **** does that matter even if I had got the car for free it still has a 6 year corrosion warranty & with it been on a main part of the cars safety structure that I will go to the press with the problem stating that vauxhall is not really bothered about it, Then he caved in I got a new front door & a large scrach taken out of the rear door as good will. I could still have punched the smarmy bas***d.
