dealers - a small rant

WHY WHY WHY when you put your car in can they not just fix it.?

had it in for rear squeak and fine they did some stuff and said they hadnt fixed so to let the fault develop a bit then take back oh and we have checked your other problem and its fine oh and fitted your tyres.

Great i thought no worries. now tonight on a drive i start getting a mechanical sounding thud from the front left area when going over a bump bit like a spring or something.

I swear someone in there is going to get punched tomorrow morning .

sounds like what i had, some spring cover(not 100% sur of the name) was fitted to mine and it cured it

it's all down to not wanting to spend too much time on one car, trying to save time and money by fobbing people off, it happens all the time

at the end of the day the car will end up back in, i've been there before many times

I've had that thud too Graeme, I think it's something re-seating itself after the springs/shocks have been extended, not a good design though, along with the wont shut enless slammed hatch which happens to be coke can thick and deforms easily.

God damn that boot. Everytime i have sevral attempts. Lost my temper (like we do) and slammed it with my hand on the top. now its dented. and i'm gutted. and sorry.

Sorry to hear you are getting messed about by the dealer. I would write to the management if I were you, I alwys do. This serves a number of purposes;

1. They soon realise that they can't mess with you.
2. They will put in more effort next time.
3. You may get some goodies or free labour in future.

I don't care if they think I am a pain in the *** I just want my car looking after when I leave it with them. I along with all of you pay good money for our cars and expect to be treated with respect as I expect them to be proffessional and respectfull towards my belongings.

For the cost of a bit of time and a stamp it is often worth while.
