    Default warranty

    hi
just wondering what you good people think about purchasing an extended warranty

just brought a 3.0 cdti signum and dont really want any big costs jumping out at me

just got a quote for £460 for top of the range covers everything policy for 36 months with unlimited amount of claims with click4warranty

just wondered if anyone has used them or what people think

especially as if i needed to replace the dmf and clutch the parts alone from vauxhall are £956 !!!!

Tesco one was stopped, sad really as it was a really good cover for what you paid - so im told by the garage who fixed my manifold.

tbh I think it ws pretty limitless in terms of warranties and it just got fleeced - why else would they stop it?

Most warranties ive come across seem to cover "everything" until you read the small print, where you realise (if you know anything about cars) that they actually exempt themselves from practically everything that is likely to ever go wrong...... And if I remember correctly the one I had (years ago on my last car) excluded the ECU and electrical system, which quite frankly means anything connected to the electrics wasn't covered! which, on a modern car is just about everything!

Read the small print before making any decisions

I have always taken the policy that extended warranties are not worth it.

Mathematically they are far from worth it.

Statistically you will be way out of pocket for taking any sort of warranty out on a car.

But, it isn't just about statistics or logic.
