    Default Oil level light

The yellow oil level light comes on intermittently on my 08 SRi VVT.
The oil level is OK (just under Max)
Could this be the sensor playing up?
I still have 2 months left on the NetworkQ warranty, so could be a trip to the dealers to get it sorted, before it runs out.

    Two possible causes: -

The pressure switch is sticking / defective - needs replacement.
    or
Oil sensor wire may be chaffed by moving part in the engine bay, thus sensor wire is shorting out - need loom repairing.

Unlikely to be faulty oil pump unless your car has high mileage...worn pumpwould produce lower oil pressure.

If it's still under warranty, should be cheap repair for them, so should be no quibble from network q.

It's only done 26000 miles and it's 2 years old next March. I had it since January this year and have covered 15000 so far. No other problems.
Looks like I'll be booking it in
    Thanks for the advice

If its on Network Q, then ironically the 3 year warranty will expire first!
The covers the car up to 60K miles
Your car will still be under warranty until its anniversary in 2011

However, book the car in so that the fault is at least logged
If it comes back in the future you can refer back to it if the dreaded "no fault found" occurs

If the yellow oil level warning is activating, then it is not an oil pressure issue.

I assume your engine is the 1.8, and my 1.8 has an OLS in the front side of the sump. It is totally different to oil pressure sensing and shouldn't be confused. Maybe this sensor / wiring is defective.
