Im thinking of putting a rear interior light in the back of my sri how difficult a job is it and do i need to buy a wiring loom.
i want to do this too!! its dark back there!! I was told there should be a plug taped up to the lining. Just need to get a light and cut the lining out. aparently!!
Time to scan ebay for the light then happy times if you find any please let me know i will do the same lol
hi m8
its a 50/50 chance you have the loom but you can retro fit
thier is a how2 for the retro fit
the worst part is cuuting the head lining.double check the measuring and make sure the loom is not where you are going to cut and you sould be fine.
mine took about an hour
i was also told its just as cheap if not cheaper just to go to the local stealers for the light?
cheers for that did they stop fitting a loom at some point i have a 2006 sri.
yes typical case of vauxhall cut backs
As for cutting the roof lining... can you feel the hole if press from the inside? genuinly dont know...
If so i'm guessuing you could pop a hole and cut around the metal edge with a stanly, surely a perfect fit then?!?
Make a template of the metal part of the light and then draw round it, cut it out using a stanley
Yes i had same problem no light in my sri facelift model i made the hole small first and then made it bigger try to make a template but be careful with the stanley knife it can go wrong be careful the roof lining is not cheap ! Once it is done it feels great see the how to section for advise.
Good luck
