Default Signums are sure tough! As I found out!

On Tuesday, I got rear ended whilst stationary. Was quite a bang as well.

Took the Signum to Marshalls to have it checked out, bumper is knackered and the parking sensors are playing up. We removed the bumper and rear lights and there is nothing wrong under the bumper. The bumper iron is perfect, we removed the bumper iron and the panel behind it not even touched.

The only other damaged is a scuff on the bootlid plinth panel.

Then there is the 57 plate Fiesta that hit me. Glad I don't own one.

    Front bumper
Cross member pushed into A/C rad
Both headlights have the bottom brackets broken off
Kink in the bonnet from the crossmember taking the slam panel back.

I am wondering whether the fact that I have a detachable towbar bolted to the bootfloor has strenghthened the rear end of mine.

Of course my will have everything checked when it goes in but I honestly thought I was going to get out to a right mess when I first saw the Fiesta.

Same when my car got crashed into, AFAIK, it only needs new quarter panel and bumper (wheel has been replaced) his fiesta (Y reg) was a complete write off! My car hasn't been repaired you see, but i've been driving it since the crash and all is well! Good ol' vauxhalls

in a bang like that the front car absorbs impact by moving forward, the back one by compressing the front end.

Make sure you get underneath your car checked out,

As i had someone rear end my old car, it had bent the middle section of the exhaust and was totally missed by the garage

    Glad you are OK

That makes sense, I saw her coming and took my foot off the brake as I had plenty of room in front of me. She knocked me forward by about 4ft.

Problem is now, I had a prolapsed discs earlier this year and am neary sorted, but it is very stiff at the moment.

Will do, we had the car on the ramp and the exhaust looks OK, but the estimate states to check the towbar, exhaust etc.
