Ive just had a look around the site and looked at a few posts here is some other information ? If you are going to get one from ebay be carefull this is why

If you look on your car pass it tells you what series your key is, and your key number, you can order them on ebay and as long as you tell them your letter and number you get the right one and it will be cut for your car......

Can you upgrade a prefacelift crappy key to a flip key? I'm sure I saw a mod somewhere to do it on the Astra. Is it a case of getting a blank key and then having the key cut to the right shape?

no vectra b used a 3 button remote,this was only used on facelift omega's and only on saloons,there are 2 types megamos and bosch.

the vectra b type again as mentioned megamos and bosch

in both cases megamos is for cars with alarms,bosch is for cars with no alarms

Can you upgrade a prefacelift crappy key to a flip key?

yes, just go to the dealers with your security car pass and they will sort it out. mine cost aprox £40 for the new key but then dont foget you need to get it coded to the car,my dealer wanted £70!!!!!!!! just for coding
shop around in the back of the autotrader and you will find its alot cheaper to get your new key coded to the car.
