On half canbus, can you hard wire to the cig lighter and interior light?
Where else also without any issues? cheers...
yes ..the loom that feeds the light is hard wired so no canbus related to the bulbs and power feeds (just the switch on and off process) ..but the loom for the light is a flat band type that goes to the rear of the car ...seems silly to run a wire into the roof via the pillers .....would be best to look for a feed in the dash area ....
I found it better to wire a direct feed from the battery through a groomet. Makes it easier if a fuse blows, and you can use the cheaper standard size. Plus less fuss if you need to add more toys, I mean usefull gadgets
Depending on your needs, you could run a live feed from the boot.
There are threads on here about fitting a permanent live supplementary socket in the boot / load area or for changing the lighter socket feed so that it does not turn off after five minutes.
Also the lighter sockets and interior lighting are indeed controlled via the can bus system (BCM and REC) - body control module behind the glovebox and the Rear electronics centre in the near side wing of the boot.

Was thinking of running from the interior light just for footwell lights, so they come on with when locked/unlocked and interior light on... did similar with the astra...
Hard wired will come from the boot for other future bits, anyone any links or info on where to take it from?
