    Default Insurance!

My brothers mate recently pranged his Astra SXI diesel. It was fitted with a tuning box that he had fastened to the loom with elastic bands together with a blanking plug, so that in the event of an accident he would be able to remove it without anyone noticing and it would still be driveable.

    Good plan you may think!

Unfortunately the accident that he had, prevented him from being able to open the bonnet, the car was undriveable and was towed away. It wasn't until the insurance company engineers got their hands on the car that the little black box was able to be got at (apparently it's one of the first things they look for on a diesel). And no he didn't declare the box!

Now he's faced with either a huge repair bill or an enormous penalty on any future insurance renewals.

He doesn't like them now either.

The real irony is that the reason why he had crashed is because he was distracted by the spanner light that had just come on and failed to spot the fact that he was approaching a rather sharp and slippy bend a bit faster than usual!

Surely something to do with fuel pressure
Boxes are ****. Fact! It's like steroids...huge gain in power...but the heart will give up sooner rather than later
