    hi m8
thier are no hard and fast rules only guide lines as we all find our own why of doing the detailing with what ever products we end up useing and like.
on a good detail i do this.
    wash
clay (once or twice a year)
    wash
    mequires paint cleanser
    ag polish 2 coats
    natties blue polish
    black hole glaze
    ag sealant
    natties blue wax

if your new to detailing go to halfords and get the mequires 3 stage kit
its not to bad to start with.
then from that you can start changing things from that.

I would suggest that all you need if your paint work is in good nick, is wash with AG shampoo conditioner, dry, polish with AG SRP, and then either wax or sealant of your choice ( any Collinite or FK 1000P if you can get them). Just doing that will probably take most of a day on a big car like a Veccy.
If your paintwork feels rough then wash, dont dry - clay, wash again , then polish and wax or sealant.

What works for you will also depend on the colour of your car. Dark colours give deeper reflections than light colours. I tried mequires 3 stage kit on mine and hated it tbh each to their own

Iv'e just bought some black hole glaze and some nattys blue as My car is metro blue. These are supposed to be good for dark colours. I was going to apply them in that order would i benefit from using a sealant before the nattys blue. I enjoy cleaning my car and thinking of buying a snowfoam lance can you recommend a good one.
