clicking noise (assuming behind heater control pannel)

hi all
anybody got any ideas what may cause an intrermittent clicking noise from behind heater control pannel.i have noticed what seems like a rapid sucsession of 3 or 4 loud clicks.
car is a 55 plate 150 diesel.
