Default Is it the dreaded DMF

So after sorting out the turbo I finally got my car on the road and have noticed a couple more problems.

When in a higher gear say 6th and just under 2000 rpm I get quite a vibration and a groaning noise until the car is over 2000rpm, the car does this in all gears. At first I thought/hoped it was a mount or something, but reading up I have a feeling it's the DMF.

I have also noticed that if I have been driving on the motorway for a while when I get of and use the clutch it feels a bit stiffer until I am back down in the low gears.

I am having it looked at by a fiat specialist on Saturday to confirm, but what do you reckon DMF or gearbox/engine mount?

Get in the car and press the clutch to biting point whilst in neutral and egnine running, if there is a rattle/chattering its the DMF or possibly the throughout bearing m8.

Yes, just tried it and it makes quite a sound, although I put the car in first gear and to biting point? there are rattles that seem to come from everywhere in this car (drives me mad) but the biting point test you can hear it clearly.

Will see how much I get quoted on Saturday, I don't fancy doing it my self especially in this weather

At least I saved a packet on the turbo, so could have been worse.

    probably looking at £1000

Very sore for a common problem. Mines has been rattling for the past three years (64k+) and has gotten worse - it will eventually let go

They usually last a while tbh.

Fair enough, if I drive it over 2000rpm it's fine, I checked the price on eurocarparts and it's £450 for a complete kit including clutch, I reckon/hope it won't come out at more than £700 inc fitting, where I am taking it, what with parts discount and independent garage/friend.

Right took in down to Optima Motors in Swindon this morning and it only took Nick 5 mins to discover the exhaust bracket was bent and attached to the exhaust causing the vibration, and not the DMF.

Looks like the car hit something underneath at some point which caused the problem so happy days.
