    Default Vectra C Transponder ?

    Ive just got a 3button flip key from ebay ive got a new blade fitted and a mate of mine is going to programe it for me. My question is has it got a transponder fitted as when i take my 3 button old type key apart i cant see any transponder fitted inside can anybody help thanks !

    No idea. but when looking at a flip key for my Mk4 astra, you could just swap the circuit board over with a bit of a dremmel out on the new flip one. pressumed it would be the same with the vectra's and no programming needed?

    IIRC it was only making the old style blade fit that was the issue?

    Ive just spoken to my mate the vec c is not fitted with a transponder so happy days i will pop up his house in the week and he will programe it for me thanks for the reply

    vectra b had chip in key and transponder behind steering wheel. You will need tech 2 to program the key. All aftermarket software will no program keys that have been programed to other cars.

    Vec C does indeed need to have the key fob programmed to match the immobilizer circuit of the car.
    It will let you into the car, but wil not start the car without being programmed in first.
    There will be a chip in there somewhere...just modern technology uses very tiny parts.
