up to the assessor but more than likely due to residuals.
sounds like a write off got any pics
Have you got any pictures mate? If the boot floor is still straight you might be ok
the alluminim bar going across the two chasis struts is bent right in and has cut into the tire bit its a bit bashed as well the floor seems strait and the metal bit the boot latch is on is bent in and has a kink on one side. i dont have pics of the damage in detail the cars at my mums becuse its safer i do have pics of the damage tho.
the pics are too big a can make them smaller i done it before but i cant remember how to all put em up to moro my old fone can do it
ive looked at it the panel can be remove but it means cutting it away and putting a new one in u can see the seems wheres its been rivited and sealed, not got gap on it i never took it stupidly gonny try and get gap if its a wright off
Some of it will depend on the age of the car as well. A lot of bodyshops can work wonders with pullers and jigs to straighten out damage.
hi mate,
sorry about your bad luck..!
whilst you are waiting for the insurance assessor to come and look at the vehicle, why don't you get some body shops to come and give you a few quotations ? they will tell you up front if its a scrap car or not.... if you get them up front you can show the assessor that it is repairable, if you were full comp on your insurance and the person did run into the back of you then in theory if it is repairable (and you can provide independant quotes to substantiate) then you have less to worry about..
from what you have described so far as long as the rear wings (i.e) the skin of the rear sides is ok, and the rear floor is only slightly kinked, then a new rear panel / bumper and crash can (bumper bar) plus all the other normal sundries... is'nt a major head ache....
good luck...
Gutted for you mate.. really up to the assesor tbh
