    Default Accident - Claims Advice?

After an accident on Tuesday, I've had the other guy admit liability and have my car booked in for repairs through the insurers.
I've also had neck trouble since the accident and had to go to the doctor who then sent me for physio.

It was no problem getting the car repairs sorted, but I'm wondering if I make a claim for whiplash (which I do have) will it be more hassle than it's worth.

I'm not looking to make money out of something by making it sound worse than it was... but as my doctor has said I've got whiplash I feel I should make a claim for what I'm rightfully entitled to.

Is it likely to drag on and on, how likely is it that I'd get any amount actually worth claiming for?

I'll just add that this is one hundred per cent genuine and that the damage to the car is reasonably bad. Just looking for some genuine advice please...

I've got a case on the go now. The guy came out to my house to take all the details and fill in all the forms.
It will drag on , but if the other guy has admitted liability it will be straight forward.
As far as i know the payout depends on all different details including the amount of time off work, injurys, and you can also claim back your excess on your policy.
Your looking at a couple of grand.

Where you from mate, i used to live in Tuebrook.

If your genuine then theres no reason not to claim, I did when a woman crashed into me, was fine for a day then developed a stupid twitch in my thumb that would not go away, craziest thing. then my neck hurt and so did my jaw!

Your entitled to it so why not?

Any compensation due will relate to your costs - how much are you losing by not working and how much are you paying in private treatment fees? I'm not looking for the figure, just suggesting you work it out.

If you're working fine and getting NHS treatment you may get a small ex-gratia payment.

Seriously? Sore jaw after a car crash? My jaw has been hurting the last two days (although the accident was four days ago)... I can't open my mouth wide (difficult to eat properly like that).

Claim- that's why you pay your insurance.

It is not too much hassle and you have been injured.

Your looking at a minimum of £1500! Just make sure that you are fully recovered before accepting any offer as once it has been accepted then you are not likely to be able to get any more!

If somebody has done something which causes you injury go for it. I was involved in an accident in a works van which then led to me losing my job because the owner took a dislike to me. The accident was completly not my fault.

Had whiplash and back pain for about a year, took a year for a settlement and got £2500.

    Where there's a blame, there's a claim!

We're getting a little Americanised with all this accident compensation, it's putting the average insurance premium up by £££ each year, but now it's here there's no turning back, make that claim!
