Think you have to install the switch mate (if your lucky enough to have the wiring), else get a tech2 on it perhaps?

think this is possible while the engine is running turn the key quickly to the off position and back on again without the engine stopping ,,, don't know how advisable this is as you may damage something

You can't do anything with Tech 2.

    It's a myth.

If your car has the three buttons on the steering wheel, you have the half can bus car and this means there is a good chance the switch will work if you fit it.

    It's a myth.

I have to disagree with you there Mav. I have done this accidently once and the TC was illuminated until I turned off and restarted.

Weather this actually disabled the TC or not is another matter.Prob just caused it to malfunction

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

It just causes a fault with the time the modules take to "boot up" I would imagine.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

And even the switchable tc turns its self off automatically after 30 mph.
