Default New Manifold - My car is RE-BORN

After taking my 55 plate Vectra 1.9CDRi SRI 150 to the stealers and was told that my manifold was on the way out or if not already gone to car heaven, which was two weeks ago. Since then I managed to re-fix my swirl valve rod 'twice', the second time by melting down sheets of plastic to mold suitable shaped caps to replace the existing 'very badly designed' originals.

All this said and done I tried to drive from Swansea 'my home town' to Manchester, 'my adopted home', which took me 7hrs instead of the normal 3.5hrs. I had to stop several times, once on the lay by which I was very sed of about, luckily when she died on me the rest of the time it was within a few miles of a service station.

Today I picked up my car from Spring Court Garages in Rochdale and as soon as I drive off I noticed something I’d never noticed before – My Car Has a Soul.

I will keep this car forever – One very happy Vectra owner

However I will post photos of the old manifold which I will also be sending back to Vauxhall via an office window of their choice!!!

    Drive safe

Just keep the engine above 2,00rpm as much as possible and occasionally kick the rear end out of it.

Cannot agree more, and I always add a generous dose of Millers at every Diesel fillup. Since I have started this regime almost a year ago, I have no longer any lumpy idle. Regime change appears to be the order of the day!!!!

Nice one, glad it's all sorted.

Now get yourself to your local Fiat dealers and pick up the modified EGR gasket (metal plate with 4 small holes in) this will reduce the amount of crap that enters your nice new manifold and reduce the chances of it happening again. I did this nearly 2 weeks ago now (straight after my manifold was changed) and it has not missed a beat It's defiantly worth £12 ish mate...
