    Default Statutory Cardit Reports

So has anyone ever sent off their £2 to see what it says?

If you have you maybe able to help

What does it actually tell you? Does it tell you who you have credit with and any notes they may have put on your file like Defaults, missed payments, bankruptcy etc?

The reason I ask is my gf had a credit check done recently and it came back with a bankruptcy order! although she has never been made bankrupt or has any knowledge of this!

Hopefully the report will tell her who it was so she can try to get it corrected. The free one is not an option as she does not have any credit cards etc.

    many thanks

You don't need a credit card for the free credit report - you sign up for a subscription with equifax or whichever credit reference company is giving the offer, view the report, and cancel within 30 days, having paid nothing.

yeh..... but you could pay for one of those without having to wait for them to send you the details , equifax and experian both have online sites where you can view everything right now

When I did mine they search for you via the details on a card?

But you still need to pay for it with a card in your own name.

    (goes off to check)

I have just looked, both free reports require card details to check your identity.

you would need to pay using a debit card , if you don't have one then it would be best using the postal version.

DO NOT pay online, just get the standard report by post, unless you need it in a hurry (which most people don't)

The "full report" comes in three sections

The first section is about the named person at that address
It will show all current agreements, typically in age order, and any previous agreements up to 5 years old
For each agreement it shows the payment terms and payments made, by way of summary
    example
    Bank of Vectra, £100 16, 01 01 2007
    11111111X1111T
This is an agreement of £100 of 15 payments made on the 16th of each month, commencing 01 January 2001 and completed, although one payment was late or paid by other method (refer to document for details of letters)
In the case of defaulting details of court orders, etc

The second section lists all the other people at the address

The third section lists any agreements from previous addresses

If there are two or more people at an address, and especially if they have similar or same names, is to check if agreements have become merged
If that is the case, apply for a disassociation

A bankruptcy order is very difficult to miss!
It requires the debtor is made aware of the court case, but need not be present at the hearing
