    Default Running in?

When I took delivery, the guy told me that for the first 1000 miles, to keep under 3000rpm and vary engine speed, ie dont sit at 70 on the motorway for hours. Thing is, i'm driving down to South of Spain (via Portsmouth-Bilbao ferry) next week with about 200 miles on the clock. What are your thoughts?

    Cheers guys

As far as I am aware neither petrol or oil burners need running in these days. The only reccomendation I know of is not to use to high a gear!!

Don't really need running in.... use the full range of gears and don't abuse the engine by over revving or doing any racing starts away from the lights!!!

Enjoy your drive, bud! If you're heading from Bilbao to Burgos to Madrid, you'll feel the car working hard on the hills! And don't forget, over there, they fill the tank for you! You have to pay still though!

As above, don't really need to run in, but don't thrash it straight away and don't let it labour. About a 4 - 4.5K max revs for the first 1000 miles should be about right.

Thanks very much for that. The route should be: Bilbao - overnight in Toledo - Ronda. Eight days and counting

Have you done this journey before? If you're going Via Madrid, watch the signs carefully. Madrid has three ring motorways all inside each other and every sign says Valencia!

Why overnight in Toledo if you don't mind the question? We found a superb Ibis hotel in Madrid right next to an Opel dealer, cost about £35 for a clean, air conditioned en suite room....

If you use the A4 ( autovia de sol I think it's called - goes towards Cordoba and Seville ) you're in for a treat about 180 miles south of Madrid. Keep the camera in the car is all I'm going to say!

If you want anymore help or info on this run, as I did it last year, PM me.
