Default 57 plate Vectra 3.0CDTi rubbish cold start

Aren't the Z30DT engines produced after late 2006 supposed to have uprated SCVs ie. have good fuel pumps?

Went to have a look at a very nice facelift Vectra Elite 3.0CDTi Auto. 72k miles on the clock.

    This was the cold start:

Got a problem there. If the pump has failed it would no start at all. If scv give problems at about 3000 plus revs. I think it may have glow plug problem . Check that first.

don't think glow plugs do that much in a modern diesel cause of the much higher fuel pressues. probably wrong though but think they just get the bores up to temp whilst runing mostly unless realy cold 0oC >

Thats really not good, although whatever is causing it has not brought on a fault light as the glow plugs do when they fail.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I doubt a faulty glow plug would cause such a bad cold start at 13°C...
Going there again tomorrow afternoon. I requested the dealer to tech2 the engine to see if there is a fuel pressure problem.

If they don't fix the pump or whatever it is...I'm not touching it with a barge pole...

I've a built in radar for rubbish V6 CDTi's lol

bigmac that helped my old Vec 2.2DTi to start better when it was -2°C outside...but that thing started every signle time even if I started it right away the first time.

Also...this particular Vectra 3.0CDTI had a very bad throttle response when stationary...When I pressed the Sport button () it was fine and reacted to the slightest touch.
I'll see what the dealer has to say tomorrow.

They said they didn't have time to check the car. He said we should come back on Monday.

    That is today's cold start:
