Default New alternator now funny electrics........HELP!

Just had a new alternator fitted.

Got the car back today and two weird things have cropped up.

Firstly, the display (CD70) seems to be in constatly dimmed mode, as in night time driving.

The headlamp switch (Auto-off-side-head) seems to have a rattle like somethings broke off inside it.

Electric windows - The windows won't automatically continue to open you have to hold your finger on it all the way down now - Is this a preset option that can be changed???)all four will open using the fob, but only the NSF window will close using the fob.

Also, the NS headlamp bulb had popped when I picked it up - I've replaced that and it works, is this just a coincidence????

Has something been wiped which needs to be TECH2'd back onto the system????

I'm a little confused why this'd happen. The battery had been flat and off the car for a bit. Is this why????

    Thanx in advance,

    Si

Firstly, the display (CD70) seems to be in constatly dimmed mode, as in night time driving.

Not sure about facelft cars, but on earlier models, you could set the screen to day, night, or auto (changes between day and night with the headlights). Can you check what it's set to in the menu?

The headlamp switch (Auto-off-side-head) seems to have a rattle like somethings broke off inside it.

Does it work OK on all settings and light up OK?

Electric windows - The windows won't automatically continue to open you have to hold your finger on it all the way down now - Is this a preset option that can be changed???)all four will open using the fob, but only the NSF window will close using the fob.

The windows forget where 'up' is when you disconnect the battery. Hold the 'up' switch for each window in turn until the window is fully up and then keep it held for a couple of seconds and you will hear a clunk from inside the door. This will reset where 'up' is and on-touch operation should now work.

Also, the NS headlamp bulb had popped when I picked it up - I've replaced that and it works, is this just a coincidence????
This may be a coincidence - perhaps ask the garage about this and the headlight switch?

    Big thanks James24!!!!!

I never knew 'leccy windows could 'forget' where they were!

Did what you said and it worked!!!

As for the dimmed display, yes, it was a setting that had defaulted with the battery disconnected, even tho the radio stations were still stored!!!!!

As for the switch, it still works fine. I thought maybe an inner contact had come adrift causing a circuit to be made for the 'dimmer' function, making the screen permantly dimmed!!!!

    BUT it's all fine now!

    Big thanx once again!
