    Default P1109 fault code

    Car got the dreaded spanner and went into limp mode last night. Put the code reader on it and got P1109 Secondary Port Throttle System. Cleared the code and its running fine again. Question is this the swirl valve and if so is the fault likely to come back.

    Also could my local independent fix this or is it a Tech 2 dealer job.

    Didn't notice a subcode. It just said P1109 Secondary Port Throttle System. I cleared the code to get it out of limp mode.

    Suppose i could start with getting the swirl valve cleaned. I presume my local grease monkey could do that?

    Another thing...since I have cleared the dtc code to get it out of limp mode are those dtc codes cleared permanently from the ecu or will a tech 2 still pick up them up?

    Just hope it is not a inlet manifold mine was and it does really cost my swirl rod came off every time i got it cleared work perfect until it comes back trust me it always comes back. Mine was a p1109 code but it said
    Swirl Actuator Malfunction? good luck mate


    ps i did stick it back on but still came off
