Default Fitting an oil temperature guage

Oil temperature is 3.0CDTi's weak point. It can reach 180°C if driven hard on the motorway, yet the coolant temperature will stay around the 90°C mark.

Has anyone ever fitted an oil temperature guage to their Vec/Sig? How hard can it be to fit one?

I'm looking at something like this:

I'd actually be quite pleased that my oil didn't take too long to get hot, but I guess that in certain circumstances it could get too hot.

You would think that with an oil capacity over 40% larger than the 1.9, the V6 wouldn't have any issues with oil temperature! I don't have any issues with oil loss (evaporation), but having said that, I don't tend to drive mine much on Motorways, let alone Autobahns.

I've never heard of anyone having the need to fit an oil temp gauge to any Vectra C.

    What about another oil cooler?

Test drove an Insignia OPC last week and that never went over 100°C of oil temp. Lead foot for 100km.

The Isuzu lump's normal oil temp is 100! Quoting from motor-talk.de
    Normalbetrieb: Wasser 90°C / Öl 100°C
    Normal driving: Coolant 90°C / Oil 100°C
    Autobahn Volllast: Wasser 90°C / Öl 130°C
Autobahn full throttle: Coolant 90°C / Oil 130°C

Der LA3 (Z32SE) bleibt übrigens auch bei Volllast bei 86°C Wassertemperatur. Diese verläßt er nur im Stau im Hochsommer bzw. Stop & Go.
Coolant temperature of the 3.2 petrol V6 never goes over 86°C even under full load.

Beim 3.0d kann die Temperatur des Öls auch 180°C sprengen...das behaupten zumindest diejenigen, die ein Ölthermomenter nachgerüstet haben.
In the 3.0 Diesel the temperature of the oil can go up to 180°C. Claims from people who have fitted an oil temperature guage.

I thought about another oil cooler but how difficult would it be to fit one?
