    Default SRi alloys

Can any one tell me if the 17" SRi alloys with 215-50-17 standard tyres from an '05 1.9 CDTi (150) will fit a Vec B SRi 150. I am changing mine and a mate would like to put these onto his car.

I spoke to a wheel deeler and they said they should but I just wanted to confirm this.

Thanks in advance of the assistance I have come to rely upon on this site.

So long as it's definately 215 tyres and the Vec B is a 5 stud there should be no problem.

The wheels will fit perfectly, but you can't use the 215 50 tyres. On Vectra B, the tyres you should be using are 215 45 17 Tyres as fitted as standard to Vectra GSi.

Heres the differences in overall diameter :-

    215 45 17" 625mm
    215 50 17" 647mm

So you will increase your overall diameter by nearly an inch. This will make the car look well over tyred, make your speedo read slow and you run a high chance of fouling the arches. Also your handling will also suffer badly as well as the gearing change that will make the car a little slower.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Matt and AJA for your help there. Looks like a tyre change will be on the cards then.
