Dealer tryied to charge me £700 to supply and fit an alternator a few month back, got it done for £460 elsewhere. Dont think they are paired to the car.

might be worth ringing the dealers before u splash out, i had mine changed on a recall when the car was out of warranty, mines a 2004 1.9cdti 150. i booked my car in to have a key coded in ad they said there was 2 outstanding recalls on it, 1 was the handbrake recall and the other was a new alternator, all done free of charge

what sort of warranty did you get 1 months parts and labour? if so take it to a garage or tell them to pick it up(we both know they wont) we have been in this situation before when folks from down south buy a car and something unexpected happens..we always fit the bill..to much hassle not too.. surely they will see sense..dont get your hands dirty unless you really have too.
